Communities of Jesus Grants (2026-27)

Is God stirring a fresh vision for your community?

The primary mission of the Midwest Conference is to support and care for pastors, resource churches and leaders, assist congregations in times of transition or crisis, and partner with churches in ministry multiplication. This work is largely funded by the generosity of MWC churches. Thank you for your mission partnership!

The MWC has also structured a Mission Investment Fund composed largely of gifts from closed assets. To steward this fund well, the MWC Executive Board has committed to using 5% of the Investment Fund principle each year for conference and local church initiatives. For 2026-27, a portion of these funds have been designated for Ministry Grants for which MWC churches may apply.

Purpose: Communities of Jesus Grants are designed to provide financial stimulus and coaching support for creative local ministry initiatives aimed at:

• Transforming lives with the hope of Jesus – (Romans 12:2)

• Connecting leaders to Christ and each other – (John 15:4)

• Multiplying followers of Jesus – (Philemon 6)

Guidelines:  These grants are intended for fresh ministry initiatives (not operations or capital campaigns). An application team will award grants based on the following criteria:

• available funding (which may vary each year)

• church engagement (MWC churches who are contributing mission partners are eligible)

• church leadership is in good standing with the ECC/MWC

• priority will be given to ministry initiatives that are structured for sustainability

• ministries that bear fruit may be considered for a follow-up grant next year
