Immigrants coming to southwest Iowa brought a desire to worship and serve God. God-inspired revival within their lives caused them to establish mission societies that brought forth churches in the Covenant tradition. Faith Evangelical Covenant Church is a direct descendent (and legal heir) of the Fremont Evangelical Covenant Church (est. 1876) and the Essex Evangelical Covenant Church (est. 1904). Its heritage was enriched by the Shenandoah Covenant Church (1885 - l973).
